Ron Paul for the Long Haul

True political and cultural movements are not cults of personality, they are for and about all people and their further realization of their God-given freedoms and rights.

Elizabeth Cameron has stated many of the reasons I dig Dr. Ron Paul such that the best I could hope to do at this point is plagiarize, but what inspires me is the ideology of (most of) those who have campaigned for his election as POTUS, and that it looks like they will continue to believe in and fight for what the man stands for long after his chance for office has passed.

It's hard not to respect people who champion a cause even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

They eschew the ideology of government as parent. They believe that government should be a lot more about the carrot and a lot less about the stick. They want the Government out of our bedrooms, our wallets, our doctors' offices. They believe in civil liberties in a way that puts a majority of Democrat and Republican officials to shame.

Regardless of how you may have felt about his campaign, if you believe in old-fashioned ideas like that the government should rule only with the consent of the governed, that citizen's rights are bestowed by the Creator and not provided as charity by and at the mercy of worldly agents of the State, I hope you will visit Dr. Ron Paul's website, maybe buy and read some of his books, and when you discover the quintessentially American beliefs he and his supporters espouse, maybe you will join the Revolution.
